Spencer’s is a multipurpose departmental store chain selling home appliances, electronics, clothing, groceries, alcohol and other household items. This is a RP – Sanjiv Goenka Group company.

Spencer’s have physical stores in multiple cities, like for example -> Chennai | Hyderabad | Lucknow | Gorakhpur | Vizag | Kolkata | Gurgaon | Noida | Ghaziabad | Delhi
Jiffy is the name of their mobile application, available on android and iPhone offering quick commerce services. When ordered in Jiffy, delivery service is carried out from the nearest physical store.

I am a regular customer of Spencer’s quick commerce service via Jiffy application in Kolkata and this is a long term service review of their delivery performance, product quality and customer service.
Application
Jiffy application is new launched software in 2025. It works but not flawlessly since there are hiccups, stutters, random refresh. But you can manage since functionally it is not flawed and operatable with these minor irritations. However, the biggest two issues are,
1. -> Delivery location won’t update automatically. Unlike Zomato, Swiggy or such, Jiffy app wont fetch the present location and always stick to the last ordered delivery address. So by mistake, I have ordered at wrong location multiple time. There is no way to modify or cancel the order after placing.
2. -> Payment getway issues are the next problem since they aren’t as good as others. Payment often gets deducted from Credit or Debit Card and order fails. Though this is rare but it happens often enough to hurt since getting money back is a nightmare.
Overall, average application, works most of the time, some hiccups but poor payment getway implementation.
Lastly, unlike Flipkart minutes or Amazon Fresh, Jiffy has no web interface. This is an app only service. This is a big issue for working professionals who gets message from home with list and can open the browser while working and add stuff to cart, confirm from home and then place order. I often need to do it during my work hours and for this I skip Jiffy and use Flipkart minutes or Amazon Fresh who offers website / web interface to order.
Delivery Speed / Quality
There are two type of delivery offered. By default for my location in Kolkata, it offers quick commerce where promised delivery is within 30 mins of order placement. Otherwise, as customer, I can schedule a delivery slot of later date spanning hours intervals.
Mostly it works but there are some occasions where delivery gets delayed with no timeline.

This is the biggest issue as policy wise, ordered once placed can’t be cancelled. Especially with prepaid orders, meaning where you have already paid online, there they hold you and your money hostage.
Customer service is hopeless. Just two options, either wait indefinitely at delivery address for order to arrive or forget about the money since there is no policy of refund.
Even if they fail to deliver and hang up a customer into indefinite wait, their app has no option to cancel the delivery and customer service is also hopeless with zero power to do anything about this citing rider unavailability.
Cash on delivery orders still have some leverage as to forget about this order and refuse accepting delivery later when order comes but that may trigger a profile ban from Jiffy App.
Products / Quality
Most of the items are packaged groceries so quality is as expected from the original manufacturer. For all my orders, I never had any issue with leaking packet or expired items or such. This is where they are really good with their product quality.
Customer Service
Awfully bad. They will never respond to your emails and when you need quick answers, there is no chat option either. The only way is to call their switch board and there, although customer care executives are very polite, but they are as helpless as you are. Unlike Amazon, which is just gold standard at present with their awesome customer service, here at Jiffy, calling or not, result stays same with their luck luster policy.
Overall
Blame is more on the government. Here in India, we as customers are absolutely neglected on our right. There is very little regulation which actually helps us. Rule, whatever little exists are never implemented on ground and these companies take full advantage of that to do all kind of malpractice.
Jiffy from Spencers is no different here. As you can see, when they work it is ok but if they screw up, it is the customer who is at loss. Even with zero fault of theirs.
