Ookla is a popular speed testing application and website which users around the world uses to test their internet connection speed. Naturally, Ookla gathers vast amount of result and internet speed test data from millions internet users like you and me, around the world.
India has the fastest broadband Internet in SAARC
In South Asian region, overall, India has the fastest fixed broadband service.
Speed Testing result data suggested, in last three months of 2020, average fixed broadband speed of India was just over 50 Mbps. Bangladesh came at 2nd place followed by SriLanka at 3rd.
Reliance Jio Fiber is the fasted broadband in India
When it comes to Indian fixed wired broadband connection, unsurprisingly with full fiber options connection, Jio Fiber broadband is the fasted service followed by ACT at 2nd and AirTel broadband at 3rd place.
Sadly, India’s first and one of the government owned broadband service provider BSNL is placed at last place for customer satisfaction.
Vi (Vodafone Idea) is the fastest Mobile Network
Surprisingly in last quarter of 2020, Vodafone Idea joint venture showed excellent internet performance and climbed to the top spot for internet speed in India with 15 Mbps of average download speed.
Jio has slipped down to 3rd place for mobile internet performance and AirTel is at 2nd place.
India is way behind Pakistan in mobile internet speed
If you are like us, always complaining about your mobile internet speed, then you are not alone. India is at a distant 6th place when it comes to average mobile internet download speed in South Asia.
Even Pakistan is out performing India when it comes to mobile internet speed.
