Officially Microsoft clearly says that AMD Ryzen 5 1600 (1st generation) CPU \/ Processor is not supported under Windows 11. You can check Microsoft Official CPU support list here -> https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows-hardware\/design\/minimum\/supported\/windows-11-supported-amd-processors<\/a>

However, in reality, this CPU seems to be silently supported under latest builds of Windows 11.

Here is one of our Desktop Computer with following system configuration,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With earlier Windows 11 builds, like original retail release or 21H2, we needed to run a registry edit commands before installation to bypass the Windows 11 TPM check to proceed with the installation, however, surprisingly, under 23H2 build 22631_2861, Windows installation went without any issues and Windows is reporting active TPM 2.0 with full support.<\/p>\n\n\n

There are two different AMD Ryzen 5 1600 models out there. One is the original 1600, 1st generation CPU and there is another, which is identical to the 2nd generation Ryzen 5 2600 but called 1600 AF. AS you can see, our CPU is the original 1st generation Ryzen 5 1600 built with 14nm whereas the 1600 AF is built on 12nm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, although there is no official news about it, but as it seems, Windows 11 has silently started to support a CPU which is not in the official support list.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
